Bibiana from Llwyn Onn, Merthyr Tydfil has been singing since the age of 7 under the guidance and tuition of Louise Ryan former singing teacher to Charlotte Church. Her achievements to date have been quite outstanding given her age. Bibiana has successfully participated in the South Glamorgan Festival for Young Musicians winning first prize for Junior Classical Voice 4 years running as well as winning the category of ‘Solo Voice Songs of Film and Musical Theatre’. Despite being only 10 years old at the time, she was also awarded ‘Best Classical Voice’ for the whole festival in 2012. Bibiana has also won first prize for Junior Voice at the prestigious ‘Music in the Vale’ singing competition in Cowbridge, beating singers up to the age of 13 when she was only 9.
She has performed solo at numerous venues throughout South Wales including St. David’s Hall Cardiff, Glanfa Stage at the Millennium Centre, The Coal Exchange Cardiff and the Dragon Suite, Millennium Stadium. Bibiana was the only child from Merthyr Tydfil to be selected to be part of the ‘Only Kids Aloud’ choir which performed with the world famous Marinsky Opera at the Millennium Centre in April 2012 and then as the Welsh children’s choir which performed at the opening ceremony of the London Olympics. Bibiana is also frequently invited to perform in Merthyr alongside ‘Cor Meibion Dowlais’ and ‘Con Voce’ Choirs.
In March 2013 Bibiana was offered a place at The Royal College of Music London Junior Department to study Voice. The offer of a place aged 11 is almost unprecedented given the minimum age for first study voice being normally 14.
