Mr Jonathan Gulliford M.A., LRAM, ARCM, LTCL
Jonathan was born in Cilfynydd and educated at Pontypridd Grammar School for Boys. He read music at the University of East Anglia, Norwich during which time he studied the Pianoforte with David Parkhouse a Professor at the Royal College of Music. At Durham University, where he trained as a teacher, Jonathan was awarded a Choral Scholarship.
Jonathan began his teaching career in 1977 at Afon Tâf High School in Merthyr Tydfil and has been the school’s Head of Music from 1980 until his retirement in 2011. He has spent the last twenty three years as Musical Director for Côr Meibion Pontypridd, and prior to that an accompanist with them for ten years.
Jonathan has accompanied many nationally acclaimed artists over the years and has worked with such choirs as Côr Meibion Dowlais, Cwmbach Male Voice Choir and De Cymru. He also plays the Organ at Beulah Baptist Church in Cilfynydd. In 1984 he was awarded the Degree of M.A. from the University of London. He has been a G.C.S.E music examiner and a tutor of the Mid Glamorgan Youth Choir.
Darya Brill – Williams
Darya is a co-founder of Con Voce and currently holds the position of Chairperson in the Choir.
In 1988 Darya graduated from the University of York with a B.A (Hons) Music/Education. She is currently a primary school Head Teacher in Gwent.
Darya has held many positions of accompanist with numerous choirs in South Wales and is currently the Musical Director of Dowlais Male Choir.
